This policy explains how we handle copyright complaints under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) as well as the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, given our international readership and Indian base.
9.1 Our approach to content ownership
Articles, original graphics, and images on Khabri Dost are created by our team, properly licensed, or used under fair use/fair dealing principles for the purpose of political news reporting and commentary — with source credit given wherever required. 9.2 Filing a copyright complaint
To file a takedown notice, email khabaridost.com@gmail.com with the following information:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (with a link or description of the original)
- The exact URL(s) on khabridost.com where the allegedly infringing content appears
- Your full name, contact details, and, if applicable, your relationship to the copyright owner
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, confirming that the information provided is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature
9.3 What happens after we receive a notice
We review every valid notice we receive. Where the claim is substantiated, we will remove or disable access to the content in question within a reasonable time, and may reach out to the original contributor or source of the content for clarification, if applicable.
9.4 Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe this was done in error or due to misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the same email address, including:
- The specific content that was removed and its original location
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed by mistake
- Your contact information and consent to jurisdiction of the applicable courts
9.5 Repeat infringement
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for any user or contributor who repeatedly submits content that infringes third-party copyright.
